This Kofun Era burial mound is about 3 meters high and is located behind the campus of Chuo Elementary School. A road cuts through the northern portion. Cylindrical haniwa clay figurines were found in the mound. The mound is rounded and has a diameter of 40 meters. The andesite crypt is cavernous, with no supplementary corridors, and the stones are laid in a haphazard manner to form the walls.
In 1958, the main burial chamber was excavated. A "sendo" or corridor 2.8 meters in length and an anteroom 3.6 meters in length and 2.12 meters in width were discovered. Funerary goods included a sword, iron objects, a gold ring, haniwa (clay figurines) of various sorts and other objects. Based on this evidence, it is believed that the mound was built during the Late Kofun Era.
